Join us for an exciting presentation by
Mr. Yasuteru Yamada
Cofounder of the Skilled Veterans Corps of Fukushima
Mr. Yamada is the president of Skilled Veterans Corps of Fukushima (SVCF), a public interest incorporated association that he and Nobuhiro Shiotani, a childhood friend and fellow retired engineer, formed weeks after the devastating earthquake and tsunami struck the north eastern coast of Japan in March last year. They immediately knew this was a serious situation that would require many skilled experts to contain the crisis and clean up the contamination, especially given the young work force on site and worker turn-over due to radiation level limits. To date, he and Mr. Shiotani have mobilized the participation of almost 700 veteran engineers, technicians, and workers who, due to their age, are less vulnerable to radiation exposure.
